Damper on hydrostat pedal

New here. I've been tinkering on a BX23s. The hydro pedal does not go back home like a previous tractor I had, in other words, it kind sticks, especially in reverse. Looking at diagrams I do not see any springs on the pedal system. I do see a damper. Is this what makes the pedal go back to home or neutral position? Part number K2651-42150. It only has 79 hours but the damper on the tractor does have a broken dust cover.....digging further, I found there is a "neutral spring" on the transmission. I haven't checked yet but I'm guessing the spring is either missing, disconnected, or broke. Is this hard to get to? Any help appreciated.

The damper isn't a spring, it only resists quick motion in both directions. It's there so that if your foot slips off the pedal, the pedal slowly returns to neutral instead of slamming you to a stop.

The Dampener does not do that.
There is a procedure in the WSM to adjust the pedal Neutral hold position.

If your tractor is less than 5 years old have the dealer check to see if there is a TSB on the problem. They will need your serial number.
