My daughter and son in law had a dish washer like that. You pressed the buttons to set up your cycle and then closed the door and it started.
Square off the cuts, wrap it stainless, and call it good.
(I'd router a recess into the countertop after squaring it up and bend up some stainless to fit the recess, but then again that's why I watch contractors so insurance and/or repairs are hopefully not needed--I may not be qualified to do a job but I sure can spot a fluster-cluck.)
