It is on par with the nonsense forced on the uninformed public, for example the local news is reporting that the pump storage facility will generate as much power as a nuclear power plant. What it will actually do is take a considerable amount of land and then the power will be bought whenever the power price is low and then it will return power to the grid when a significant profit can be made. There will be a net loss of power due to friction and evaporation.
Yes, operated for the benefit of the consumer it can be an asset, but the real intent is harvesting money for a select few that came up with the scheme.
