Holy, I can't even imagine what it would take to raise something like that.
Actually it doesn't take much. If the tanks get low, ground water gets high. Then pop goes the weasel and it's out of the ground. ;)

When I worked in Florida, they had to run welpoint systems around swimming pools if they were to be drained for repairs. If not, the pool would pop out of the ground :D Most amusement parks and water parks had permanent systems installed in hidden areas they could attach a pump to to keep the ground water at bay while they were doing maintanance on a pool or water ride.

It made for some interesting service calls and deliveries :D

got a couple inches of rain today... more tonite & heavier tomorrow.. river is backwatered up over just about everything in the hollers & country area's..

in the towns they are starting to close up the floodwall gates.. should be a wild couple of days.

so it looks like our whole area is gonna get flooded in, they already closed the schools, colleges, most of the plants are running emergency crew only..

will probably get monday off. bad news is my yard looks just like DT's & there aint nothing i can do outside.

will just have to spend the day in the shop building guns instead! :D

Thanks for posting that Daren - was thinking about you guys and D2Cat last couple days watching Weather Channel. You're wet, but not under water!

Looks like big problems in Louisville.

Walked out of the store today....
GREAT BALLS A FIRE!
Its been awhile since I've seen one of these. I could feel the heat all the way down here. I pulled out my camera snapped a pic. Dang, it was so hot it looks like it melted a spot on the cheap Fuji film.
Never woulda happened on the old Kodachrome. :p

wife saw that catfish & said does he live near us? LOL

so as mentioned when the weather is crap.. or just about any other time im not at work or on the tractor, i work my second job which is building weapons.

This weekend was no different as my yard is a slushy & you sink just walking in it, so been collecting all my pieces & got started.

its a 5.56 AK74

nothing fancy just a good way to burn up 5.56 ammo while everyone else is trying to make their AR work the way it was supposed to.

now before you black rifle fans start getting all upset.... i have built hundreds of AR's. & i dont mean just buying parts & pushing the pins in & calling that "building" (its not, its assembling) can do my own lowers from forgings or castings & can do them from the ground up. in any caliber you can think of.

doesnt matter about that though, personally i like AK's better. always have, always will.

when you pick an AK up & pull the trigger it shoots.. in the general direction you pointed it.

can you hit a baby aspirin at 300m with it? not likely.

but when was the last time a baby aspirin at 300m was a threat? :D

i much prefer reliability over accuracy at a distance i cant even see anyway.

but if you are a dedicated AR guy? let me know & i'll throw you some pix in that will make you happy too.

im down to about 30 AR's now, but not a single one of them is "normal".

stay dry & keep your fingers out of the lathe!

i couldnt take it any longer & got the tractor out & pushed over a couple of the dead tree's on the trail, just taking advantage of the soft ground.

well the ground was soft everywhere, but coming out of the barn/shop... oh my..

sunk about 4" & left some awful tracks that my wife was down there yelling at me for real quick...

so on the way back into the barn, being the smart a$$ that i am?

went in backwards & dropped the bucket, lifted the front off the ground, & backdrug/smushed my way into the barn.

had just enough angle on it to not tear it up & it did actually smash down the middle pretty good.

then last nite we had 55mph winds & got broken old trees all over the place.

hoping that it will dry up enough tomorrow to get out there on Sunday & clean some of that mess up.

smarty pants!!

well it was beautiful today & about 45*... very mushy again.

got the toy out & went down the trails & moved a few broken tree's & just gommed around making a bigger mess.

came back up & put her in the barn & said enough of that.

need a good solid week of no rain to get it to where i can drive around.

got to 60 today & just beautiful outside... so rolled out this morning & dropped 5 of those trees...

spent the rest of the day cutting them up & making brush piles.

next step: the PTO woodchipper & then the stump grinder!

wife has replacement tree's shipping on march 15th, so gotta get cracking.
