Wishing milk still got delivered a couple times a week to the front door....breaks my heart to see footage of a farmer dumping milk down the drain because bulk buyers for restaurants don't want it.

Seems like a more versatile food chain would be able to get milk to where it can be used. Fresh milk is in short supply at the grocery store. The shelf stable milk is not available, nor is powdered milk. Excess milk could be turned into these other long term storage forms if only the supply chains could reroute the milk. Everybody that cooked with milk or drank it at restaurants would probably still like to drink it if they could get it. Just hate to see it wasted.
Must be an up north thing, no issue down here with milk, fresh or powdered. Cannot drink the stuff, lactose intolerant.

Quite a rally in Lansing yesterday, I almost went. I'm tired of governors trampling my Constitutional rights in the name of the virus.

She's headed for a recall and I'm good with it. Didn't vote for her anyway. Didn't vote for Schutte either.

Maybe Joe will tap her for his VP. Would make a great pair.

They've had similar issues here. Folks went and spent their monthly welfare on TP then tried to return it at Wally World when they started running out of food. Wally world told them to kiss off :D

Amy bought a case of TP from China. Hasn't been delivered yet so we are using the daily newspaper for TP. All its good for anyway.:eek:

I did something sorta strange this morning. Drove up to the bank's teller with a mask on and asked for money.

Masked bandit... I do the same thing. Felt strange first time I went into a store with a mask on, something a thief would do but then I see lots of masks in stores now so the 'uncommon' has become the norm.

Had a chuckle the other day: driving past a city park and noticed they had closed the gate to auto traffic. The road leading to the park was lined on both sides with cars of people that were using the walking paths. I swear all the cars were spaced exactly 6 feet apart!
Funny but probably helps explain why Arkansas has 50 of 75 counties with less that 10 positive tests.

Sheepfarmer you are correct, it's good to see people's ability to adapt. Great progress could be made in every area of life if we all pulled together. It's amazing how many women are making face mask at home in with what ever material they can come up with. People helping people.

If only when we hitched up our wagon we didn't have each horse pulling a different direction!

Amy made us multiple masks from Tee shirts. We each have 3 so when one is in the wash, there are 2 more. Think I said, gal down the road made many, many masks for the local first responders.

I suspect masks will be standard apparel for quite some time or until a vaccine is developed and available generally.

Kind of wondering how you go to a sit down restaurant and eat with a mask on? Will be quite a feat.

We are doing no carryout whatsoever. You haven't a clue who handled your meal before you got it and if they were asymptomatic or not. No point in taking unnecessary risks.

I prefer home cooked meals anyway.

This kind of thing cheers me up, I like to see Americans who roll up their sleeves and pitch in for the common good.

Whilst I applaud the sentiment, I'm not sure if I would trust my life to a mask made by a shoe manufacturer who is hoping to "ideally reach FDA standards".
The danger with any PPE which is not specifically designed to a certain standard for a specific purpose is that someone who feels they are protected (but in reality are not) will put themselves in harms way.
I see people wearing dust masks for this virus that don't even work for dust but they feel safe and maybe don't take all the necessary precautions.

Nit raining on my parade at all... I wear one in public BECAUSE I WANT TO. All studies aside, any bit of prevention is fine with me.

Besides, it gives me the 'incognito' look.

At my age and with my pre existing condition, Covid 19 is a death sentence for me so I prefer to err on the side of caution. Your circumstances may be different. It's a personal choice for me.

So fat, so good. It's all around here but not here.
