It was purchased at the dealer and was factory sealed.
Possibly they got the wrong fluid in the wrong jug at the factory.

Could be a simple case of some cheat filling up a Jug of SUDT2 with something like 303 which is dirt cheap, and returning it back to the store for credit.
Have had that happen in the past. 20 gallons of it. When people take advantage like that, it sure makes it hard to trust people in general.

How on Earth does the dealer accept 20 gallons of that expensive stuff back unsealed, and then re-sell it unsealed??? Sounds like a fast way to buy someone a new tractor when they fill it with canola oil thinking it's SUDT2... if they could prove any of it anyway.

Update : Valvoline contacted me and asked for more pictures of product difference. They may be sending a sample submission kit to test the product purchased in February, March of this year. I will update when new information is available.

Why should you even have to deal with Valvoline, You didn't by valvoline oil you bought Kubota branded oil, I would think your dealer should be dealing with this, as they are the ones that sold it to you in the first place!

The dealer is on the hook if it turns out to be the oil...

I'm with Wolfman here, dealer purchased and branded. They (Kubota) should back the product, PERIOD!
You should not have to deal with their suppliers for defective or non conforming products.
If I bought a vehicle from GM, Toyota or Chrysler and the same situation occurred, would they direct me to their supplier?
I applaud your tenacity and patience Scottyw, and hope for a positive resolution

Interesting thread. Guess you could buy Valvoline synthetic hydraulic oil (which is less expensive than the Kubota) oil and be money ahead.

The oil sold by Valvoline is not the same as the oil that they formulate for Kubota. Kubota Super UDT 2 is only available from Kubota.
