Hey everyone, I’m new to this site. I just purchased a 6060 i live up north we have lots of snow here I wanna buy some chains to put on the 6060. I’m assuming you can only put them on the rear and NOT the front, what type of chains do you recommend?

Tirechain.com and some have bought them on Amazon from the same company for less.

I just use ladder chains. Eurostyle chains are better, but a lot more money. I also use tighteners.

I usually use on rear only, but to really steer the front, fronts are helpful.

I have Euro front and back, for my situation they work incredibly well compared to ladder, BUT I'm guessing most people are facing something different so have different needs. Are you plowing or blowing, how much area how often and what's the surface material and drainage like?

Trygg fast trac. Will last forever. Not cheap but the best. Have had a few sets on different tractors. I only use them on the rear.

I run trygg's on all four, would not want any thing different. When it comes to 2 vs 4 chains, you need to remember that installing chains makes the circumference of the wheel bigger, so you need to do both axles, so the ratio's stay close. I have had no issues with binding running front and rear chains.

I got a very good price on chains from the Kubota dealer. They beat tire chains.com by a lot.

Chains on all 4 is fine.
Just make sure they fit tight.

What tires do you have on the tractor, as that affects what chain style you should use.

I think the Wolfman meant type of tire not size of tire. For example, with my R4 tires, ladder chains fell mostly between the lugs and were not that great, but better than nothing...

I never thought about that… good point! I’m running Nokia tires and they have a deep thread as you probably know. so yes, I wanna make sure no matter what chains I purchase, they don’t fall in between the lugs too much.. Ill check out the Tryggs and see what the Kubota dealer has and will be looking for next year now as snow season is coming to an end but i have some great options thanks to everyone who has replied to this thread! Thank you all!
