re: I thought all 48” 3 point cat 1 implements were compatible.

so much for 'industry standards'.....

I lost 6 hrs today trying to replace an older (1998) B&S 8HP engine with a newer 9HP OHV Honda 'clone'.... the 3.5 by 3.5" mtg pattern ain't on the clone.... yet another 'standard' that isn't adherred to.....

Put your lower 3 point arm pins on the inside of the tiller frame. That will push the tiller back and give room for a PTO shaft. The BX series like my BX1800 use a hybrid cat 0-1 hitch system. This works great on my tractor with the same tiller.

Neither of your pictures show the entire tiller but I presume it is the same one I have.

I use a Rural King quick hitch on my BX and the tiller works great with it once you install the QH pin bushings.

You can get an idea of how much I shortened the shaft by the label that was cut through.

Tilled for seven hours with it today. :D
It looks like your tiller is offset slightly. What are your thoughts about that for the BX? I’m considering an offset vs centered 48in tiller.

Hard to tell from your pictures, but is it possible to un-bolt the lower pins and flip them inward?

That would narrow up your lower lift arms and push the tiller back a couple/few inches.
Good suggestion.
