can enyone identify these strange items???

hi all,
I have a question for you all out there, can you identify the items pictured below.
I found them last year in tucked away in the wall cavity in one of our barns that i was restoring.
When i first saw themtucked in the cavity they were very dirty, and i couldnt see the writing on them, i suddenly thought i had found some rare religous artifacts hidden away for hundreds of years, but no, something not quite so rare by the looks of them.
I think they are early 1900's maybe 1920's , but could be anything.
They have me baffled and most of the locals too, i wondered if they were specific to our location but no one appears to be any the wiser.

maybe someone here can shed somelight on what they are.

Whatever that means....perhaps some sort of aerator tine?

Reminds me of a golf tool. When your ball comes down on a soft green and leaves an impression you stick the spiked end under the impression and pry the dent up. Usually you then step on the the area or flatten it with your putter. My guess -- Cricket balls are very hard and the crease where the batter does his work must be very flat do to the fact the ball must strike the ground before it reaches him. An uneven spot or divot would affect the ball and give the bowler (pitcher) an advantage.When a batsman grooms this area it is sometimes refered to as gardening-- and sometimes they do it just to throw off the bowler. This is my understanding anyway. Given that some of these objects were found on a cricket pitch it makes sense that it could be a tool carried by batsmen, like golfers carry a divot tool. Maybe our friends accross the pond will have some input. Tom

Wow Like to know what words Stoned Oli used in his search . He does have strong google fu. Even after getting to the web location he posted it took me awhile to get to the exact text on my own.

Then I tried ( iron clutch for soft ground)as the google phrase. Clicked 1st listing, a book. A very small picture of item is visable. Same as OP.

I must agree looks like some kind of water key to open water line or open something hav you tried posting them on u-tube ill bet you get your answer within dayz of posting

i found a old wrench lookin tool didnt know nada about it posted it on u tube and found out it was a old rail road tool used by the track gang ????????
