I’m not sure what he meant by it. Yes I have had help along the way when needed. I am retired, my helpers aren’t so I wait until they have time to come with me to do anything that I need help with. Anything I can do alone I did by myself.
The cat (Sonnie) we think was dropped at our gate and he never left so we adopted him. He has an automatic feeder and plenty water for when we aren’t there.

Yes Sonnie is a helper and follows you everywhere like a dog I don’t care what you are doing. Cutting a log into rounds with the chainsaw and he is right there with you.
He also sits by you when fishing in the pond. Catch a fish and he is all over it lol.

I guess it’s time for another update. Got the floors down and finished putting up the knotty pine on the walls and ceilings.

Got the kitchen appliances in and a couple bedrooms about done, just a little trim work left in those but still have to put the doors in. Starting to move in some bedroom furnishings.

Built a temporary tv stand for one bedroom until I get around to making the permanent one.

Your temporary TV stand looks FANTASTIC, I wouldn’t worry about replacing it…it fits the decor perfectly and looks really well made…nice job.
It did come out better than I thought it would. It was a spur of the moment build with wood scraps I had laying around.

Any issues or tips to share on putting up knotty pine planks? One of these days going to do the same in the attic/loft in my hunting cabin. Have the knee walls built, painstakingly tried to be true and vertical—figured that would make putting pine planks up a lot easier.
I used 12ft boards, it’s doable alone for the walls but still a pita. The ceiling you definitely need help with. Inspect each board when you buy them if you can. I bought these at Home Depot and had to sort through a lot to get good boards. If they have a bow you can work through it but try to avoid any with a crown. A small crown you can fight through if needed though. I used a 2# deadblow hammer from Harbor Freight to tap them together for a tight fit. On the walls get the first board as level as you can and you should be good all the way up but do check level every couple of rows.

That camp is beautiful, I have a dream to own something similar in the UP of MI. Being that I am 63, I better get started, lol.
