I bought a BX2680 approximately a year ago primarily for blowing snow with a front mounted snow blower. The first time I tried to start the tractor after it was delivered the battery was dead, and the battery was drained if it sat for more than a few days the entire winter. The factory electric chute deflector never worked from the first time I blew snow and it had a huge puddle of hydraulic fluid under it from the beginning. Once I could safely pull a trailer up the mountain to my house last spring I took it in for warranty. The original diagnosis was that the steering was leaking hydraulic fluid under the dash onto the battery which was draining the battery. When I called BS the service manager screamed at me over the phone. I went to pick it up and it would not start. After several trips to the dealer along with turning them into Kubota it has held a charge for 3 weeks at a time and does not seem to leak anymore over the last couple of months. It is hard to remember everything that went down, but if I remember correctly, they originally tied the chute deflector into the auxiliary light wires at the back of the tractor. I just installed lights on my ROPS and attempted to connect to these wires and they are only live when the key is off. If you connect to them while the key is off you can hear a relacy make and the lights light up. When the key is on the relay does not make and the lights do not come on. Before I wire directly to the battery, does anyone have any idea what the dealer has done to make this happen? If I could easily correct it, I will if not I will wire directly to the battery, no matter what it costs, I will never set foot in this dealer again and I do not want to jeopardize what seems to be a electrical system that holds a charge.

Any help in pointing me in the right direction to correct this?
was about to edit my previous post. The relay isn’t wired in right. I can’t help without detailed pics of the current set up with the added relay.

A relay activates when the coil gets power and relaxes when power is off. Since your relay does something when the key is turned the coil is probably correct. Many relays come with a contact which is closed when the relay is activated and another that is closed when it's not. It sounds as though these contacts are wired incorrectly. You'll have to locate the relay then move one or possibly two wires depending on the relay and what was done.
