I'm a bit over 47 hours, and didn't want to wait, so off I went to do the 50 hour service. I think I spent about $150 on filters and S-UDT.
First challenge. The "specialist" at my dealer wouldn't accept that my owner's manual says change transmission fluid at 50 hours. So I ordered Super UDT from Amazon.
The engine oil change went smooth. Filter was tight, but not like some of the videos I've seen where it appeared to be welded to the block. I already had 4 gallons of Rotella T4 sitting in the garage.
The fuel filter underneath is kind of a pain. Seems the prongs that go into the hose are 42 feet long. Given the amount of arthritis in my hands, it would have been nice for the engineers to cast that transmission case with flat flanges, instead of the 45 degree one that makes taking the bolt for the trans screen out difficult.
THE hardest part of the entire process was putting the MMM deck back on. There is exactly enough room when that I can't get both arms under there very well to put the shaft back on. The deck kept rolling forward on me. Once I finally got that. the linkage wouldn't drop low enough to put the rear pins in, so I had to lift it with one arm, and engage the pin with the other, on both sides. And putting the front brackets back on was also very difficult. I may relocated that filter after all, I was resigned to not do it since it's such a long time between service intervals.
The only thing I didn't do that I plan to is change the fluid in the front axle. Going to switch to 80W for that.
