I'm a bit over 47 hours, and didn't want to wait, so off I went to do the 50 hour service. I think I spent about $150 on filters and S-UDT.

First challenge. The "specialist" at my dealer wouldn't accept that my owner's manual says change transmission fluid at 50 hours. So I ordered Super UDT from Amazon.

The engine oil change went smooth. Filter was tight, but not like some of the videos I've seen where it appeared to be welded to the block. I already had 4 gallons of Rotella T4 sitting in the garage.

The fuel filter underneath is kind of a pain. Seems the prongs that go into the hose are 42 feet long. Given the amount of arthritis in my hands, it would have been nice for the engineers to cast that transmission case with flat flanges, instead of the 45 degree one that makes taking the bolt for the trans screen out difficult.

THE hardest part of the entire process was putting the MMM deck back on. There is exactly enough room when that I can't get both arms under there very well to put the shaft back on. The deck kept rolling forward on me. Once I finally got that. the linkage wouldn't drop low enough to put the rear pins in, so I had to lift it with one arm, and engage the pin with the other, on both sides. And putting the front brackets back on was also very difficult. I may relocated that filter after all, I was resigned to not do it since it's such a long time between service intervals.

The only thing I didn't do that I plan to is change the fluid in the front axle. Going to switch to 80W for that.

I’ve got 25 hours on mine and as you said it shows 50 hours. It’s supposed to go back for minor warranty work and I might just have them knock it out while it’s there. By the time they get to it, it might be at the 50 mark. I know what you mean about trying to get both arms to work right under neath with arthritis! I was putting my underbelly guard on and I couldn’t figure out why the arms weren’t dropping., I guess they needed weight hanging from them to help gravity work? Anyways the BXpanded guard was easy enough to maneuver just wasn’t sure why the arms weren’t dropping down on their own.

I’ve never dealt with hydraulics and this being a brand new tractor I figure it might be best if I had them do it.

Lads, run your back wheels of the tractor up on a 4x4. The height of the 4x4 gives you enough room to make hooking up the driveshaft a whole lot easier. As well, hook your rear linkage up first before trying to hook up the driveshaft. This prevents the deck from rolling forward.

I may try this next time I pull the deck off to clean it. There were pine cones, dirt, leaves, and branches stuck under the gearbox. I actually had to lift each side of the deck to hook the rear linkage back up, I may drop the gauge wheels so it holds the deck higher next time.

Did you turn your cutting-height knob to "0" or "1" before letting the deck down to remove it?

I think he was talking about when he went to put it back on. The arms really don’t want to drop without some hefty weight on them from what I could tell. I thought I was doing something wrong and I was only hanging my light weight under armor, don’t have a deck but I could see this being tough.

The arms should drop freely without the deck on them.

They did drop easily, it was just that they didn't drop far enough. I think I had it set to the lowest setting, but the deck was still about 1/2 lower, so I had to pick up each side. I think if I pin the casters on the top holes, I'd have enough height, and I'll make sure about the adjusting knob when I do this again. I need to remove it more often to clean under the gearbox after the wife mows out in the pasture. It would be so much easier if I was rich and could pay someone to do all my chores.

OP you've got dirt under your mats, you need to get under there and sweep it out. 😁

I did not have mine handy but I have this manual loaded on my phone. I’ll have to get mine out and check it with this but it clearly says bx2680 upper right hand corner.

You purchased the high maintenance tractor. Don't forget to polish it and buff the headlights. I am surprised that Kubota doesn't have a listing to change light bulbs after xx hours.

I think they updated the manual....I bought my BX2380 a year ago (same manual for the BX2680) and that is a photo from my manual that came with the tractor....so idk.

You are right! I just got my manual out and it is the same as yours.... just goes to show, you can’t always trust the Net! 😏
