I'm just proud to be able to contribute something valuable.

That little fitting doesn't seem like much but around here it's huge. I've got 4 electric fuel pump and 5 hand pumps in oil drums. 20' hoses are $40 and without the elbow I would replace 1 or 2 a year. With the elbow I haven't bought a hose in at least 5 years. Bottom line, the few dollars spent on 90's has saved me several hundred dollars in hoses. Money well spent.
Well sir it was great advise and I wanted to post showing that I indeed listening installed ASAP. One is never to old to listen, act and learn.
Thanks!

Love the website but hope that dosen't mean your leaving us at this address.
I had wondered where exactly Bay Roberts was so naturally i had to click on the map, dang your so far east you can see Lief Ericksons house.lol
The guitars are your sons project?
Thanks my friend and I'm glad to hear you like our new site. It is being built by a close friend who I highly admire and he put some major time into it. No I won't be leaving the site. I'd like to sit back and read and learn from now on. I won't be posting anymore of my designs or work on the forums anymore but will post them on our own site from this day forward and if there's something that folks want to see its only to leave me a message so contact me through these forums.
Its guys like yourself that got me back.
To get my photos organized I had to place them in albums and with that location change the photos disappeared from the popular BX threads and other threads.
Now I'll make all photos and never before seen photos available through our new site.
Short Guitars are the work of my youngest son Daniel who is a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. His workmanship is just unbelievable. We are so proud of his accomplishments. We will be displaying his work very soon on the site.
Thanks again for your valued comments. You'll have to come and visit us in person some time. ;)

How did you get that dog to sit on the front of the tractor??? (bg)
All I'll say is it wasn't easy :D

Careful, that almost sounded like a invitation.lol
Actually we have had that/your area on the 2 wheel bucket list for quite some time but just haven't took the calendar and made the commitment. Time is now the issue ,my wife worked for the same company for 20 years and had built up to 5 weeks of vacation per year then the company was sold. The new owners didn't allow the people who stayed to carry over the benefits so she started over at 1 week of va per year.

You should be very proud of your web site Paul and the accomplishment of starting and running a successful business. Something most everyone would want to do, working for themselves and surviving in todays economy. Being your own boss is priceless.

Paul,
I'm very happy to see you back and have bookmarked your website. I'll be visiting it often.

I'm also glad that I checked this thread today... I hadn't checked it since my last (and only comment).

I value talent like yours. I'm an amateur machinist with limited equipment. I have a Myford Super Seven lathe and an ancient Atlas seven inch shaper. Most of my projects are quite small, but I put a whole lot of value on workmanship and good engineering and each of your projects exemplify precisely that. The icing on the cake on your projects is that they end up looking like an original Kubota accessory.

Thanks to you, my current project are the rear view mirrors for my little BX1870... I need these and I can do this. Thanks again.

Well if it sounded like an invitation that's because it was one. If you ever find your way over here I'm real easy to find. Just let me know when your on the way

Well I'm the boss when the wife is gone lol. Thanks for the compliment on the web site. I think it's a sign of good things to come. Yes running your own business is rewarding but It's tough at times but there's more positives than there are negatives.

Most excellent website Paul. He's a great designer.
Think you very much. Yes he's a good designer and the best friend a guy could have. We've been friends for a very long time and he's never said No to me. I'm the same way with him as well.

Compliments on the website, looks good.
Thanks. Appreciate you posting on it :)

Thanks Ben. After the dust settled I came back lol but maybe some will understand now that it wasn't just because people weren't posting that I lost the photo's. The web site had much to do with it but it's easier to flame people than to try and understand them so I took a break from posting for awhile.

Glad you liked the site. There's much more items we want to add but it's crazy busy in the shop these days. It's 10 at night and I'm just finishing up here at the shop. Great to here your into machining. It really is a great hobby. Well it started out as a hobby for me and ended up as an essential part of our business. I'd be lost with out the machine tools.
Thanks for your kind words on my work. although you give me way to much credit I'm happy to hear that you enjoy seeing it but the icing on the cake is when someone benefits from it. Glad you liked the mirror idea. They are really nice on these machines.
Great hearing from you and thanks so much for commenting. :)

Oh man I hope you didn't drink to much screech before you kissed the cod. Might not been a cod at all you kissed  I can't even think about this, it will soon be breakfast :D

This week the shop was crazy busy but I got some time in at the new dump trailer. One of the mods I did to it this week was a wireless remote. Just as I got the thing installed a long time customer of ours called and asked if we could repair and service his Craftsman lawn mower. He said he didn't know how to get over to us so I told him not to worry I'll be right there.

So we pull in, open up the rear barn doors on the trailer, place the ramps on the back of the trailer then get on the mower. The customers says " it looks steep" I say " not to worry". As I'm sitting on the mower I take the wireless remote and start to tilt the box up to the point where the ramps are almost level with the box and drive right into the trailer then put it back down again without getting off the seat. Now that's just plain  Customer was very impressed to :D

This morning I'm up early. The last trailer mod is to fabricate mounting brackets for the trailer ramps then its going to work.
Hope this isn't boring you all.

Paul what is the inside size of your trailer? Is it about 60 inches wide or so? And how are/have you keeping the 25 held in place so she doesn't move around in side?

Hope this isn't boring you all. You funny guy
And Im not sure how much JD was involved, but I don't drink like that any more,,,:D

The trailer is a 6'X10' 5 ton trailer. The BX isn't going in it with the BH and FEL on it. I got another trailer for transporting. This one is used for moving gravel, sand, stone and sometimes the ZTR or other customer machines. That being said I installed 5 D rings inside the box so there's lots to tie on to.
Glad you don't drink like that anymore. I don't drink at all.

You got a good plan Phil ;) If you ever need to know how to hook up the wireless let me know. It's a ten minute job when you know what to do.

I took the day and got the ramp mounts made and installed but it was really to hot to be doing this but I wanted to see closure :) There will be a video up on it by morning.

Paul,

A dump trail is certainly worth the money at times, especially when unloading fire wood.

I looked at the video you posted, and noticed the trailer saftey chains. I was always shown to cross them under the hitch, that way if it ever comes loose it cradles the coupler instead of letting it hit the ground. Just though I'd pass that along.

Quality welds in aluminum takes skill no doubt. Tried it myself with heliarc (TIG), not for me.

I do a lot of welding in the shop. Tig I love. Mig pulse I love as well. Here's an example of that. Had lots of tig welds on file but they went with the rest of the photo's so I'll have to try and upload more of them. Ya I usually cross the chains as well but most don't around these parts. I always do when pulling the bike trailer behind the bike.

If you had someone with you on the tig and had it set up you'd do ok.

Looking good

That doesn't look like pulse. It looks more like GMAW spray transfer mode done on a powered welding positioner. Beautiful weld.

I like the ramps. Out of the way yet very easy to get on and off and with a minimun amount of fabrication. I would say that's a home run.
