OH and one stupid question on the ramps, did you have a locking lip on the bottom of them tying into some part of the trailer frame?

Paul, I figured you had it under control but you know what they say when you just assume something has been done. I just didn't feel right not bringing that point up.

I really like the trailer, it will be very handy I'm sure.
Ah but it's nice to know someone got your back so thanks for checking on that. If I never had it done then things could go very wrong really fast.

Paul: That looks just great. You are the best. How about a trip down here to Vermont for a little R&R this summer. Would love to meet you here at my shop.

I got a new Kubota coming in and will forward the info up to you soon. Sold my L3400. I will send you the photo's.

Oh man I would love to see your neck of the woods. They might never get me back here to Newfoundland . Just think of the things the two of us could do with that new tractor of yours. What are you buying?

Seen your new videos wildfire, guessing you have a Mod #2 in the works soon to top the past.
Good lord no. After the mess this Mod#1 caused this will be my last thread.

Well when I only get and need four hours sleep per day I do have an advantage when it comes to getting things done my friend. No I don't have anything locking for the ramps but more like the ramps wedges in place but when I get back at it I might develop a locking system. That should make it much safer. The largest item I'll have in the trailer id the ZTR. That's my old chevy alright. It's a mint condition 1993 K 4X4. Had it new. Great machine.

Here's a few photo's of the new stable for the BX. I figured I owed you all a few photo's :D

Well here's the new stable for the BX and it's attachments. It's 14X20. Sorry about the second photo. Can't seem to get that one right

You know I've tried to apologise for what I've said. It really boils down to it was a huge misunderstanding. But you want to come back at me and brow beat me and bash me by saying this stupid shit to me,

"Sounds like sour grapes to me. You need a new tractor? Do what we do. Get out of your bed before daylight, go to work and get back home after dark and do that consistently for years in a row with no vacation time and you'll get your new tractor. "

When I have tried to apologise for what I said and the misunderstanding. And it's not just me that said the same thing others felt like I did but I don't hear you climbing all over their asses just mine! It's obvious I had interoperated what you said wrong.

It is what it is...

Paul,

Welcome back. The trailer looks great.

(I'm pretty sure you are a careful guy but...be careful where you stand when it is raising/in up position. I have see some turn over on the side when they are on un-level ground, and the load gets stuck in front end of the the trailer)

BTW - I don't talk much and I don't post much and I don't have the tools to do significant modification but I do appreciate your work and the thought that you put into it. I also appreciate your willingness to share information on the products you use in your mods/work.

P.S because I still love you and don't want to see anything bad happen to you or anyone. Double check your brake controller in the cab of the truck. 5tons is no bag of pillows when it comes to stopping. And not all brake controllers are created equal. Some will work for trailers with one to two axles others handle one to four axles. Your average general purpose brake controller will marginally work but since your hauling with a light duty truck you want the most trailer stopping power you can get.

Some of the newer top of the line controllers are auto adjusting based on the load your carrying, they also take into account emergency braking and are better insync with your towing vehicales braking. Some of the cheaper brake controllers are self adjusting, you can beat your brains in trying to set them just right. Also they have a slight delay in stopping.

Oh and food for thought on your ramps. Some trailer manufactures have a slot for the ramp to slide into under the bed of the trailer right at the end where you would need them anyway. Maybe you could fab up a bracket in that general location to store the ramps.

Thanks Russell. Ya I've seen a few trucks go over sideways as well back in the days I was operating the big equipment. I'll never dump on uneven ground. Not worth the risk. I'm glad you brought it up to because it reminds ALL OF US the hazards that's around using this stuff so a big thank you for that.

Also thank you for your kind words on our work. The fact that it got you posting was a great compliment so thanks again for this. ;)

Well I don't know how the rest of you refill your machines but I was using Jerry cans. That was ok when I only had the one machine but I got tired of lugging cans and went with this set up.

The pump is a 115 volt, 15 GPM. I installed a water separator on it as well. I picked up the barrel trolley at Princess Auto for half price at $60. and the barrel I got just down the road in new condition and it was the right color with no scratches on it

Paul, in the 3rd pic I could see a kink in the fuel hose. Just a friendly warning, from my past experience with these every spot the hose is kinked instead of a natural bend it will crack and blow out. I have several of thise type pumps and since most of the time the hose is just hanging unused when it's needed I will install a 90 where it comes out of the filter housing so the hose can hang straight down. A natural coil of the hose will double or even tripple the life span. Another elbow like what's coming out of your pump would fit the bill perfectly. Just my $.02

Cool. Makes sense. I'll get one this week. I only used the pump once since I put it together. I did put a couple of swivels on each end. They don't come with the pump  I also dumped the cheap nozzle that came with the pump and put on a automatic nozzle. It never ends :D
Thanks again. Nice to know someone is looking out for me ;)

This is one of the reasons I like OTT. We can pass on personal experience big or small and sometimes it may help another Orange Brother out.

Nice work and welcome back! What is the attachment that's an orange box with a grey top?
Thanks! That's a Kubota ballast box that I modded out. I had to rework the way it hitched up. I added a tow receiver, A top cover with allowances to put a hoe, shovel and rake in it and custom graphics. I also built a base with swivel castors to lay it on and move it around the shed. The ballast box is now designed to attach to the Land Pride 3PT quick Hitch.
Here's a few photo's.

Ok guys. Sorry for the delay.

We now have our own web site. This is the start of a three stage program for us. The other two stages I'll fill you in on as they approach but this had to be done first. Big things are happening here behind the scenes. All the photos that were deleted will eventually be added to the site. All photos are now copyrighted and the property of Specialty Repairs at this point and I think you might enjoy looking around the site. Be sure to check out the "About Us" page ;)

I'd like to thank the web master who is building this site. Believe me when I say "he's good" he's been a very close personal friend of mine for many years and was instrumental in the restorations at Gasoline Alley. He is the only outside person to EVER be involved in ANY of my work and we have worked closely together on many projects. His graphic designs are just mind blowing.

This guy is such a great friend I call him the brother I always wanted so to you Brian a very big thank you for your hard work.

The site has a few areas still under construction but it will be worked on daily so check back often.

I'm just proud to be able to contribute something valuable.

That little fitting doesn't seem like much but around here it's huge. I've got 4 electric fuel pump and 5 hand pumps in oil drums. 20' hoses are $40 and without the elbow I would replace 1 or 2 a year. With the elbow I haven't bought a hose in at least 5 years. Bottom line, the few dollars spent on 90's has saved me several hundred dollars in hoses. Money well spent.

I drool over E-bay and Craigslist just about daily in the evenings. If I see some jackwong stealing any of your photos and trying to sell something as a scam I'll give you a shout and let you know. All to often I see pics of tractors on Ebay and some idiot will copy the photo and try to sell the item on Craighslist in a scam.
