You got a great tractor Paul. Wish many years of working with it. Here in Vermont most of our snow is gone. The mountains still have some as the skiers are here for Easter weekend.

I took my Blade Plow out the M7040 and put the forts back on.

Just got a L3400 with 213 hrs. It came with a 60" Meteor Snow blower,65" Box blade &72" rear blade both Woods.

I will get some photos up maybe today.

This make me three Kubota's BX2230, now L3400 and M7040.

Happy Easter to all.

I showed my wife the pictures of the "claw". She said, "We have 3 stumps out by the pond. Why don't you build one?" GEEEZ , can't a man get some time to just sit on the front porch???

Hi David. Most of our snow is gone now. What falls now don't last thank God. Just looked at your new addition. Man its a nice catch. I bet your going to enjoy that machine next winter.
Happy Easter to you a well sir.

Hey. Don't blame me. You showed her :D
A few years ago we put a new porch on the front of the house. Even put new chairs on it. The wife said she don't know why they are their because ill never take the time to sit in them :D

Today was a day for another mod on the new BX. Anyone that has a BX will know or at least should know that the HST cooling fan is very easy to damage on these machines. Although Kubota tried to address the issue but putting in a fan guard I think It might have actually helped if we lived in a perfect world but I don’t so i set out to design my own.

I called this project designing on the fly. I didn’t really know what direction to go in this morning when I started it. I had some checked plated aluminum I could have used but decided not to. My goal was to make it look as if it came with the machine so I’ll have to let you decide if I accomplished that goal I also didn’t want to loose any ground clearance and I know I accomplished that.

A few technical issues were run into such as the front Drive shaft. had to work around that thing. Then there was the HST mechanism sticking down and then there was the issue of how to attach it. Well I designed a skid pan instead of just a guard. I also designed it in three sections and it completely covers the underside of the tractor. I also included a section for the HST filter so it would be protected. I punched slots in various places to aid in cooling.
I started out by removing the OEM fan guard and pressing it back flat. I then added some material to it to stiffen it up then punched four holes in it and tacked four nuts to it. From there I built from that. I used 1/8th steel plate that i had left over from another job and to get around the HST pedal linkage issue I just simply housed the system in or boxed it in if you like. I also punched three small holes in the lower section of that so water couldn't build up.
I get a lot of question on the plasma cutter I use so I included a few photo’s of that. I think the rest is self explanatory looking at the photo’s.

The next few mods will be truly custom ones so stay tuned

Hey Pauly,, if you don't mind could you send me the measurement's for the skid plate, the one I made out of the street sign works, well I think it does cause I aint tore the fan up yet,, but that one is LIKE REALLY NEAT!!! Only thing I can see that I would have to add/change is for the Mid PTO for the mower shaft

Ohh soo that's why there are so many car accidents in your area, you're stealing all the street signs for skid plates LOL!!!!

Hey if the street signs work don't bother to change it. ;)

Wonder why no shackle hook on a back hoe bucket? Used to operate excavators with them. They were handy to have. Well I got one now :)

Wildfire, you would make the coolest neighbor ever. I wouldn't even ask to play with your toys, just getting to watch the master at work would be reward enough.

I can't wait to see what's next.
