I have a BX25D with 366 hours on it. I find that shifting out of four-wheel drive to be very hard. I've tried lowering and raising the idle speed. I've tried tapping the drive pedal both forward and reverse. I've tried putting in in neutral. It will finally come out of four-wheel drive, but I really have to pull hard on the lever and I can't seem to figure out if all the different things make any difference. The last time, I shut the tractor off and then took it out of four-wheel drive. That was a little easier but still had to pull hard on the level.

Any suggestions?

place your FEL on the ground, curl down and raise the front end off the ground a bit - it will go in and out with ease.

^^^ This ^^^

And try driving in a straight line for a few feet to relieve gear mesh on your front driveline. Steer left and right a little might help as well to unload the front driveline.

Coming out of 4WD should be easier than going into 4WD. I would guess that there is a treddle pedal adjustment needed.

I press the lever slightly and rock the fwd/rev treadle, moving a few feet back and forth and it always slips out then. It is 10X harder on hard surface, so be on gravel/dirt/lawn. Needs the ability to slip slightly.
