BX22D priority valve

Where I circled is that the priority valve spool my steering is hard to turn. I replaced seals in turn cylinder and that didnt help so Im hoping the valve has some trash in it that has the valve stuck open/closed. The orbitle valve is working as it should. Screen in suction line is clean and filter has been changed as well as fluid Kubota udt2. Been rebuiling tractor.

Why not check for flow at the steering valve?

dont have the right fitting for guage. I got this unit on the cheap and restored it trans/hydraulic tank was really dirty screen was packed full of debris cleaned screen changed filter and fluid repeated the process. Steering did not work when I finally got the tractor started so I removed cylinder and repacked it bled air and still no power steering at fel line I put my guage on and got about 1100 psi so Im low on presure so I put a .1 , .2 and a .4 shim in releif valve that got me about 1300 still way low presure. FEL works fine and runs great forward and reverse. So I thought the priority valve spool may have trash in it. I think the pump is good but it may be wore out not sure. So I thought maybee someone could tell me where the priority spool was so I could pull it and check for trash. Or maybee I need to pull that whole valve assembly. I have totaly restored and painted. Working on backhoe next.

A good pump makes 1800 PSI. If you are measurung 1300 PSI either the pump is bad or your not hooked up correctly.

Forget the gauge, are you getting oil flow at the IN port on the PS controller?

If you have flow at the controller why do you suspect the flow divider?

If it's that low on pressure and flow the priority valve will stay closed.

The priority valve is pressure compensated and will stay open at any pressure and fkow under 2 GPM. PS always has priority and will always get punp flow up to 2 GPM.

flow rate is that what you are saying. The priority spool if it is stuck one way the fluit may not be getting to steering side. I bought the jailbreak system and had not known the pump presure before I got the kit because I did not have a guage but now that I do the presure is reading low so your saying even at 1100 psi I should still have steering because it has priority first but if the spool is stuck in the wrong direction in theroy steering would not work. I say that bcause all the trash that was in the system could have gotten by the screen and filter. But it is proabibly safe to say the pump is bad if im getting 1100 psi at full throtle and 1300 psi with all three shims installed. so maybee 2 issues

Yoy can easilt neasure fkow rate

not sure how acomplish that

Disconnect the pipe, put a clean bucket under the end, start tractor and time how long it takes to fill it to the 2 gallon mark. Pour oil back in tractor.
