Question:

I believe I remember NI Wolfman suggesting that you measure the height of the tops of the rear rims. Did you do this?

Tire pressure difference corrected the problem, but why?

Could be because of differences between the tires. Doubt there are any significant differences in the wheels (but you never know).

As I am typing this I am almost confusing myself! But it seems to me that if you find the tops of the rear rims are at equal height with the different tire pressure, this would indicate tires are the issue.

And if you find the loader is level now with the rear rims at different heights, the root cause is likely not the tires and something else.

No question you solved your issue by varying side to side rear tire pressure.

But I do not think you put your finger on the root cause of the problem yet.

Tire diameters don’t match, common problem, easiest accurate way to measure is a level on the ROPS with equal tire pressure. Tractor tire quality control isn’t the best, doesn’t need to be.

hello again:

I did measure to the top of the rims as suggested. I believe the issues is in the QC of the tire manufacturer. I believe the tires are different outside diameter.

I dropped the "problem" (right side) tire to 15lbs. I then leveled the tractor by lowering the pressure in the left side. Just shy of 10lbs did the job. I used the 4ft level on the ROPS as a reference. I left the front tires at 20lbs (I could drop them to 15lbs as well).

I cut the grass today and it looks much better. It is at least even height through out.

I put the loader back on and checked it. It comes up level as well. I think the root of the problem has been identified.

I have a concrete project coming up in a month or so and will be using the loader to deliver the concrete to the forms. That will tell if the lower tire pressure is a problem or not.

I am hopeful things will be fine.

Thanks again for the helpfull suggestions.

Nuff said for now

just one more thing, because you have a loader, leave the fronts up at least 20, you don’t want to risk rolling a bead off when turning with a load of dirt or something, I slightly over pressure mine to 24 psi, tire is rated at 22.

Adding rear ballast appropriate to what your lifting will make a big difference in the load the front tires experience.
