Left pin keeps falling out

What is the mechanism that is supposed to hold it in place?

I see there is a hole in the pin, I put cotter pin inside and hammered into its hole, hoping that would hold it, didnt work

The center of the pin is more narrow, maybe that is for securing it in place

The pin can go in from either side of the hole pretty easily

Suggestions appreciated

Is there a hole where the red circle is?

How does the OTHER side stay put?

There should be a bolt that goes through the welded boss and through the pin - much like in these pictures of a BX1500

The groove in the middle is for grease to be distributed when/if you grease your loader. At the end of the pin find a bolt that fits and locate the same hole on the bucket, install a bolt with a little blue loc-tite on the nut.

There's something with tractors, their maintenance or upkeep. About every aspect happens in pairs, or x2.

I did notice other side also needs pin

but now i go back and level land
Probably OEM is an appropriately sized hex or Allen head bolt with a nylock nut. Don’t want it tight, just thread the nut on and leave loose.

That "hairpin" clip is a poor idea, because it CAN get pushed out.
It will work,..... but as others suggest, - a bolt with lock nut - is a MUCH better idea!
Ask me how I know this!

It does not matter what you use to retain the pin if you are not greasing them, they will keep shearing the retainer and fall out. You need to get a grease gun and use it regularly.
