It just slides off and on. Will gluing it on cause a problem later if certain repairs are needed? That thing fell off again this morning. Eventually I'm going to loose it.

Got a better fix?

I drove an L2502 yesterday and saw that the throttle handle knob has a threaded insert and jam nut.

So - two ways to fix this problem

1) epoxy it back on and ain't no way it comes off again - and yes it will be a PITA to get off later.

2) Wrap some golf grip tape around it ( I bet you know someone that regrips clubs) wrap it a couple of times, take a little dap of lighter fluid and place on the sticky tape - and slide the knob on and twist where you want it to go. It will stay damn near forever - it can be taken off at a latter time too.

I looked inside the hollow of the knob. Are those some teeth in there???

I tried lightly tapping it on the throttle handle using a hammer. It may have bitten in much better.

Is that the correct thing to do?

Mine has been a little loose for 11 years. Lost it once in the woods but found it.

I live with it. If I ever need to pull it off, makes it easier….

Yep. Superglue can be dissolved with acetone, so if you ever need to get it apart, that's the ticket.

A solvent that will weaken the plastic (like PVC cleaner before the purple stuff), wiped around the inside then put the knob on and rap lightly will work too.,
