I have a BX2200 and use a weight box on the rear while plowing. Sometimes I hit the lift lever by accident and the weight box falls. I see there are places to hook the lift bars to the tractor and not the lift. If I just moved the lift bars over, the weight box would be too low. Do they make shorter lift bars or do I have to make my own.

Does any one see anything wrong with keeping the weight box up for the winter? The box is about 700#

I could be wrong but, I think you are 400 Lbs over the recommended weight for that box.

Does the BX not have adjustable stops on the control lever? Even my b7200 had them. If not, you can probably make something and would be easier and cheaper that making new lift bars

No stops on a BX2200. There is a valve to control the drop rate that can be completely shut to hold the
3-point at the desired height. Sitting in the seat its the knob behind your right leg.

Yes, I kind of remember that, I'll have to try that. Thanks

It's actually a home made 'box', a beer keg. The BX2200 is rated to lift something like a 1000# on the 3PH
Actually 684 lbs is maximum lift capacity.
So you're a little over but close enough at 700lbs.

And yes the best option without any alterations is close the three point lift control knob.

I use the valve as @Dustyx2 mentions, to answer your question a person could use Limiter Chains.

The BX can lift "something like 1,000#" if it's centered at the factory lift points.
(not your exact BX but for reference)

Limiter chains on a BX is problematic because the strength of the upper point is already low and adding that kind of force can break the housing.
Some BX's had attachment points on the bottom of the ROPS, I'm not sure if this one did or not.

The EXACT BX for reference:

Yes, The weight in the box is centered on the eyes in the 3PH lift arms. It is not hanging off the back. Since it ids an old beer keg I've always wanted to run a hose from the keg into the cab just as a joke. I will try closing the valve.

Thanks

If you have young kids/grandkids running around you might want to be cautious if keeping it in the air when not running.

Love the idea though (y) (y) (y)
