Looks like the first service is 4 to 5 hundred dollars. Should I attempt this myself? or will that void a warranty? Or is this a piece of cake for even a novice? Thanks' for all your input in advance..

Well that made it look very simple. Although a lot of TV shows also make a task look easy as pie. Until I attempt it. Then nothing goes right. My schedule has at 50 hr's. engine oil, transmission fluid, and hydraulic oil filter cleaning. Does the transmission fluid, account for the hydraulic fluid for the FEL and the trans? Maybe I need to watch the video again. I only saw two fluid changes. Thanks'We do all the routine maintenance on our BXs, Ls and M. The BX is very easy to do and certainly not worth paying a dealer to do. See if this helps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi9PVdEmNRs
Yes, you only have engine oil and transmission/hydraulic fluid. Your refill amount will probably be different than the book. I usually run mine a bit and recheck.Well that made it look very simple. Personally I expected 250. to 300. I understand this is not a lawn mower like you buy at Walmart for 999.00. I called 2 different Kubota dealers. Both dealers stated 4 to 5 hundred. Thanks to all the input and videos on this site I believe I will try this myself. Thanks for all the support everyone. Great site here.???
Not to sound snarky, but how much did you think it was going to run and how much was your tractor? These things are specialty machines and not cheap.
I did the 50 hr myself using OEM filters, fluids, etc... I think it still set me back a couple hundred. OEM stuff adds up pretty fast.
If you are somewhat mechanically inclined, do the work yourself. Really not terribly difficult, just takes a bit of time.
If you aren't mechanically inclined then have the dealer do it consider it cheap insurance that it's all done correctly and you don't get dirty or knuckles banged up.
If you think this is pricey then read up on some of the dealer repairs some owners have had done. Some of the stories are crazy and scary!
Good luck.
