You folks helped me last month with my over heating BX 2200. I got a new thermostat. Now a new issue arose. The engine just quit. But! It cranks and restarts and runs for a second or two. What should I look for? Thanks
First as Dave mentioned check the fuses.Thank You! Can you give me an idea where it is located on the BX 2200. I found it on e-bay.
In the meantime, you could disconnect the solenoid, since it is a plug connection, and see if the fuse in question does not blow. This would eliminate the possibility that the issue is in the wiring rather than the solenoid. The saga continues... As Dave and Shelko suggested I checked the fuses. Sure enough the top most 20 amp had a broken terminal! I replaced it and the machine fired right up! Then the new fuse melted. Tried another and back to square one. I removed the cowling and located the solenoid. Looks easy to swap out. I ordered a new one from e-bay. I'll keep you posted. For today, I'll get out the push mower. Thanks for all the help!!! --- Alan
You folks were spot on! The solenoid came in the mail today and I put it right on. BX2200 fired right up and KEPT RUNNING! I purchased from ARKOTRACTORPARTS on e-bay. (fast service) I can put the push mower away! Since I have the cowling off I would like to change the fuel filters. One is visible, one is not. Must I remove the deck to get at the lower filter? Thanks
