I was leveling a spot for a pole barn and one side had to go down about 5 feet. I have a l3600 with a la680 loader, 3way roll over scrape on the back that weighs over 700lbs. It went ok at first, then I was going over it with the scraper teeth, then I piled about 500lbs of rocks on the scraper. With about 18" to go the dirt was a crumbly rock/clay mix and 1200lbs bearing down on the scarifiers just bounced along the surface. For my bday my kid got me a cutting edge called a Piranha. You have to drill 2 holes in the bucket to mount it, but if you saw my bucket you would know that wasn't a concern.
Anyway, to make a long story short- I was now able to easily tear through the last foot and a half of dirt and finish the job. I was about to have to rent/pay someone with a bigger machine to finish it for me. Would highly recommend if you needed something like this.

Glad to hear someone besides me has benefited from a tooth bar. I put one on my 6' SSQA grain bucket and am amazed with its usefulness every time I use the FEL. It is great for getting rid of privet and other unwanted stuff and it increases the earth moving capabilities by a bunch. With practice I am learning to take full advantage of the teeth. Just make sure the teeth are on the ground when you park it.
