Howdy, Just wanted to add my two cents worth as I too had the same issue on a BX23S in around the 60 hour mark still within warranty. I sent a picture of the broken casting to the dealer thinking this is a no brainer that it is a warranty issue. I too had the left/right swing pin in place as I had been doing fel work. I got on the backhoe - forgetting the pin was in place and tried to move left or right. Big Bang and I see broken piece exactly like the other pictures in this thread. I will add that this is my work tractor that I talked my boss in to buying after I have personally owned a BX24 for over 15 years. I have done the exact thing on my own BX hundreds of times with no issues as I regularly use the pin in place as my BH will swing around when I am running through the bush…
Dealer came back saying Kubota Canada will cover the parts only and not the labour. $1400 apparently for part but my boss has to cover the labour of 5 hours @ $155 an hour. My dealer has now resubmitted claim for labour to Kubota after I explained my case. Tractor is fixed but I do not have high hopes…
My feeling is that there was indeed a weak point in the casting or they have somehow upped the hydraulic pressure on this side to side movement and not beefed up the casting…
My comment to the dealer is that I cannot believe that every BX BH user has not done this same thing of trying to move the BH left or right with the pin in place at least once?

yeesh, I've tried moving it lefty-righty 100s of times over the past 6 years and zero damage ( knock on wood). Though I don't go FULL FORCE or over 2400 RPM until ready to dig.

Definitely keep us posted, it is good to have info in one place.

All the ones in the USA have been fixed under warranty (ones I found posted on line)

Hi I lost track of this thread they replaced the entire casting on the backhoe and fixed the grapple that is a very large casting. I now have 200 hours on the tractor and would guess about 75 using the BH. I was skeptical when buying it and almost cancelled it but it has been a godsend. I use it as much as the loader. The new casting has not broken and the old casting did have a lot of porosity. but again the dealer was fantastic. Nova international in Alysford

Be careful what you say here...or you may suffer the wrath of the "Backhoe on a tractor" skeptics... :D :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: ...But they do exist...LOL
must be the bad back brigade all I know is mine paid for itself. I put in a lot of trail and many culverts and many trees and many bigfoots built a huge deck and two barns. removed many stumps and lifted logs and all with my glorified lawn mower + toy backhoe the thing is work got done that would not have been done cause I sure as hell am not going to put culverts in or dig stumps out with a shovel
