Check the cables on the battery. When running, the heat of the engine will warm things there and a marginal connection can expand and open and thus "no battery". While you are at it clean the terminals and the inside of the connector. Of course other possibilities are there, but try this first.

she has juice
the ignition lights come on
but motor does not start
does not even crank
it was running
i was moving the seat from back hoe to drive position and the motor cut out.
wondering if that is related to motor shut down?
or coincidence

If this is a brand new tractor I would not do a thing to it except call the dealer. If you play with it you can void the warranty.
Just read your last post, do you have a safety cut out switch under the seat that might be open. Use to call these dead man switches.

I know this is basic, but have you read the owners manual to see what the procedure is for switching the seat around and what effect that might have on other operation, such as not allowing the PTO to be engaged with the seat 180 degrees turned around?

I can't stop thinking this has something to do with the seat switch. Maybe while turning the seat around you knocked something, or possibly even pulled the wires from the switch? Have a really good look around there.
Mostly we really enjoy our tractors. This is a bummer...

It's a seat or PTO safety switch that is either engaged or disengaged. ;)

Usually if there are problems they show in the first few hours. After fixing, the rig is good for many years. You wont find higher quality than Kubota, but good luck with whatever you decide to get...
