If you cant fully close that valve something is still wrong. You are deadheading the pump sonewhere and you do not want to use it like that. You will pay the price in $$$.

Lets try to verify the neutral circuit on your valve is properly connected. Remove the upper hose from the hydraulic block and put it in a clean bucket. Start the engine and you should get a steady flow of oil with no pump strsun or whine. Do not run the engine for more than 30 seconds.

Dan
Do you mean port A on the tractor?

Yes. With your changes that hose should now be connected to OUT on the Bradco valve.

Turn the directionsl valve fully in and run the test just long enough to check for flow and noise from the pump or relief valves. You do not need to operate any levers. There should be strong solid flow and NO NOISE.

After turning the valve as far as the instructions say, I got a strong flow with no noise out of the OUT port on the attachment. I put the OUT hose back on the A port. I started the tractor again and levered through the attachment. Everything worked but there was a little noise from the pump now and again in no specific position. I didn't try backing the directional valve off. Also, the 3 point and power steering no longer work.

Believe it or not we are making progress. We now have confirmed supply and return flow to the implement. Now why no tractor hydraulics???? Is that new or was it the case before this test?

Just to be clear you turned the directional valve all the way in (clockwise) and finger tight?

The directional valve is in all the way (clockwise) finger tight. The 3 point goes up eventually. The power steering is pretty much nonexistent. The tractor is difficult to start. I thought maybe the battery was dying and it was. I charged it overnight and acts the same way. I also found out that the alternator isn't charging. So I'll be visiting my local alternator/starter guy

Once started, I moved it and the pump does a lot of whining. The blade moves well without any hesitation. I tried moving the directional valve once started and it won't move with my fingers. After I shut the tractor down I can move it all I want.

You are deadheaded some where. Put the 3pt lever ALL of the way down and check ALL hydraulic functions.

Then use one of your hydraulc hoses to connect A to B and check the 3pt and PS again.

I looped A and B and the 3 point and power steering work fine. It started great without struggling.

Could there be something gummed up or stuck in the attachments control valve? All the levers go back and forth freely and they do what there meant to do. It did sit in a shed for 15 or 20 years before I picked it up.

No. The valve is not plumbed correctly

There is a remote plumbed out of the bottom of the valve. It's the smaller diameter hose. The other remote is plumbed into the branch of pipe fittings that come out of the OUT and go into the A port on the tractor. Could that be it? Is it worth swapping the two?

Almost surely. That makes 9 hoses and is probably a power beyond. But that is not consistent of your description of the flow from OUT. Thatz what I was trying to determine with that test.

Post a picture of the bottom side hose.

Both of these ports have large adapters unlike every other adapter.
Discinnect the bittom hose from the rear remote coupler and stick it in the hydraulic oil filler. Start the tractor and see if you are getting flow. Just that, nothing else. Do not operate any valves.

I wasn't sure what you meant. I disconnected the remote line and attached the line from the B port from the tractor. Where I had that line before I attached a line I had laying around into a bucket. The flow was excellent.

I pulled the loose hose and attached the remote. That definitely does not work.

The only way the attachment worked was when the B port from the tractor was attached to the top of the control valve and the remote out the bottom.

Please put everything back that you changed. Now do this and nothing else.

Go to the rear of the tractor and disconnect the quick coupler on the hose coming from the bottom of the valve.

Stick that hose in the oil filler hole

Start the tractor.

Is the hose in the oil filler dumping oil into the transmission? Yes or no?

Thats all you need do.

That appears to he the power bryond outlet on your vslve. Connect it to A on the hydraulic outlet block and run OUT on the valve to the oil filler. Start the tracyor and test all hydraulic functions

Dan
Everything works now. The only time anything comes out of the OUT is when I'm running the levers.
