Greetings to All! I have a BX2370 that I would like to put a block heater in. Has anyone done this? What brand did you use? Is there an OE part or did you buy aftermarket?

Welcome, I would probably just put a magnetic heater on a flat surface such as the bottom of the oil pan. I have never had any issues starting mine in the winter but I always have a battery tender hooked up to the battery. I try to reduce the amount of power using items because of the high cost of power up here.

I am with skeets on this one. A "Battery Tender" is the way to go. I run 4 or 5 of them with my gear. Watch out for the knock-off's and cheap imitations. They will end up costing you. You get what you pay for.

A heater will reduce wear. Cold oil is thick.

I agree with warming the oil too. Just insure you do have a magnetic surface to attach the heater to before you buy a heater. Aluminum oil pans - not so much.:D

WELCOME to OTT...

I recently picked up the factory block heater from the dealer $75 for my BX25. It fits several models and my BX25 is basically a 23xx with a backhoe. Remove a freeze plug and replace with the block heater. May lose some antifreeze in the process, a good spring project. Have 1 on my truck, Dodge Cummins, and it makes a world of difference.

I too picked up an oem one for my new-to-me L3940. Spring fire me as well. Just pains me to start it cold on a 10 degree day. Does it fine, but oof. Going to get a belkin wifi outlet (wemo, i think) to turn it on whenever i want.

I got the block heater installed on my L3200 from the dealer prior to delivery. Dealer charged $175.00 total.

I installed the stock block heater from the dealer on my 2370 last fall. Not too big a job, you will have to drain some antifreeze, not all. I found good info on the process here on the forum. If I remember correctly, getting to the rad drain plug was the biggest PITA, its kinda hidden and well obstructed.

I use a WEMO AC receptacle switch to control the block heater via smart phone from home or work. You can also program on/off times, very handy rig.

Cheers

When I bought my Bx I had the dealer install one in the bottom hose to the radiator. Looking at that today I could not get a decent picture, cuz it is in a tight spot. Looks like it was a difficult installation.
