What a stupid design. I took the two dome washers put them on first, then the blade then the spigetted washer then the nut. Tightened, then stitch welded the spigetted washer to the blade. For new blades cut the washer off with an angle grinder with cutting disk. Now when I hit a tree root the belts slip a bit and stall the engine.

Welcome to the forum! I have no idea what your talking about. In fact, I had to Duck Duck Go "spigetted washer." Came up blank. I see a learning opportunity looming ahead!

I am not even sure where to begin on this .......... kinda leaves me speechless!

I saw that too and thought he might have been pointing out a design issue with his tractor…related to blocked air flow Through the radiator.

BUT after reading the OP’s post here, I think I got sucked in on the overheating thread. o_O

Seriously, do you have a picture or two of how that setup goes together?

I’ve seen a lot of mowers, admittedly none from Australia, but never seen one that required an angle grinder and welder to change blades. Also, I’m assuming the “dome washers” are Belleville spring washers. Having two adjacent to each other on the same spindle/bolt is a rather odd configuration. Photos of what you’re dealing with would be quite interesting to see.

And unless your mower has hinged blades like a brush hog/slasher, belts slipping and engine choking down when a large obstacle is struck is pretty normal.
