Best grease for all fittings?

I like to use a "red and tacky" type grease. Lucas has a great as do several other suppliers. I wont use a really tacky grease on joints that ooze alot of used grease in conditions that will result in grit staying in those fittings in hard to reach places. I don't want to grind junk into an already compromised area that I know I'll be to lazy to wipe up an flush with grease again soon.
