Okay, last question for the night, I have been saving them up for a bit before joining.
The B7100 I bought is a gear drive, and it growls in 2nd and Reverse. I popped the cover and found the center gear on the 2nd/Reverse shaft was pretty torn up, the ones that mesh with it seem fine for some reason (I think the PTO drives off it in one speed also)
I ordered the new gear, should be here this week, and I want to get it installed ASAP because I have a back blade for snow this winter and I need it to be able to handle a load in reverse.
The shop manual isn't very helpful, it just says "Disassembly is apparent". It looks like I can split the tractor at the front of the transmission, remove the front drive shaft and anything else keeping it from separating and then i should be able to remove the inner circlip and slide the shaft forward.
Is this correct? Or will it require me to remove the axle also?
