Greetings! :)

Thanks for all the great info here [and the youtube videos, Vic]

I have searched but cant find anything like this. The tractor is new to me.

I've checked the wiring on the switch with the wiring diagram, and it seems to be correct.

However, when the key is turned to the left [to heat the plugs] the starter cranks [if the clutch is depressed]

the starter also cranks when turned to the start position [far right] as it should

tractor starts and runs well

PO lost the key and was using the butt of a house key to turn the switch. [I've ordered a new key]

any advice/comments much appreciated

thanks!

Morning and welcome! Now to the problem, I had a similar problem when the Previous Owner of my B7100 was using whatever he could jam in the slot of the switch. It needed replacing. Which is what I had done when when I had it in the shop for a clutch R&R. Solved all the ills, clutch too!! Haha

thanks for the replies

well, I sprayed it with teflon/silicon and then contact cleaner, moved the key back/forth through the positions with the new key and now it seems to work fine....

famous last words :D
