Tried to start the tractor and the on/off switch needed to be giggled (technical term) just right to get the fuel pump and glow plugs to work. I also had no horn, no headlights, and the rectifier was shot. I pulled the dash and all wiring and discovered melted wires, corroded wires and terminals, tested the horn (no good), the light switch ( no good), rectifier was junk, etc. Ordered new power switch, NOS horn, light switch, rectifier, and glow plug indicator. Start switch was good, which was great because I couldn't find a new one. Replaced the bad wires and installed the new stuff and I'm off and running. I now have a horn I may never use, but it's there if I do, I have headlights, a glow plug indicator the glows, and a power switch I don't need to wiggle. I also installed new glow plugs. It now starts easier, but needs a little finesse with the throttle to start good. Pretty basic stuff on a basic tractor. Next is to put it work and see how it performs.

Good work with the wiring fixes.

For my B7100 it seems like about a 1/4 inch of throttle past idle position is optimum, combined with longer glow plug heating.
I'll give it a try. I've been heating the glow plugs for about 30 seconds since it's not cold out, but I'm going to go a full minute or more and see if that helps.
