I need to get it off to replace the steering column boot. Got the nut off easily but it's stubborn! Am I need going to need a wheel puller or should I keep trying to (gently) beat it off?
Where UDT works well for a lot of situations, I don't think this is one of them.Put the UDT loosely back on the shaft

I think you meant to type Nut.
Well, a properly trained UDT guy could get it off in a second with the tasteful application of high explosives...but I let Liquid Wrench work on it overnight and with a moderate amount of yanking and tapping I got it off.
