B2620 propeller shaft replacement

The coupling were out on the little B2620 and instead of splitting the tractor i turned the shaft down to the same size as the base of the splines about an inch back to allow the coupling to slide back and install shaft without splitting the tractor. worked perfectly and saved me so much time.

I think that you might want to add a shaft collar (with set screws) behind the coupler to stop the coupler from coming loose if the retaining pin sheared off. That shaft could whip around and tear up the tractor if the rear end fell off. Probably a belts and suspenders idea but easy to do.

Which end did you turn down?
