Hi,
I’ve got a kubota b2400 with a transmission problem. The symptoms are the tractor has a whining sound and has a very hard time moving forward or reverse, the loader and 3pt hitch hydraulics work normal. I removed the transmission strainer and it had a good amount of shavings in the metal mesh, enough that it seemed it was an internal issue. I’ve since split the machine in half and removed the transmission. When I separated the transmission I found much more shavings laying in the bottom of the case, enough that I expected to see a bad gear or bearing but couldn’t see anything broken. Ive yet to pull apart the hst unit as I don’t want to if I don’t need to. I’m hoping someone may have had a similar problem and could give me some guidance. I’ve included a few pictures to show what I’m up against. Thanks

All thst junk is also being ingested by the implement and PS pump. Major cleaning needed.

i agree with @TheOldHokie. Unfortunately it's gonna need a new hst unit. Open that hst up and I'm sure you'll see swash plate pistons etc eaten up. Check the charge pump also may need that as well. Plus a good thorough cleaning. There is a guy on ebay selling them for around $4500. Otherwise kubota is around $6k

can tell you right now, the hydro unit is toast. as said above ^^, you will find the damage when you open up the hydro unit. the parts to rebuild it will be high dollar !. been there, done that on my b2100. IF ( is say this mildly )..you can rebuild it ?, you will need to do a complete flush of all lines, pump..all of it !. DO NOT SKIP THIS PART !. once the damage gets into the whole system ?..just rebuilding the hydro unit will not be enough. YOU MUST FLUSH THE WHOLE SYSTEM !. do not skip this !!. otherwise, you will waste time and money.

I stopped running mine as soon as it started making noise. Caught it before completely destroyed itself. I was still in for just under 3k in parts.
As mountainman said there was a guy on ebay with complete units for 4k ish. He was in Canada if memory serves me correctly.
