I have a new B2320 with about 10 hours on it. The HST makes a screaching/ chattering noise when under a slight load (like going up a grade in medium) with the engine rpm's at 2200 rpm and higher. It does it in high also and forward and reverse. Does anyone else's do this and if so did you have it fixed?

Thanks,
Ken

I know this is an old thread but did you ever get this resolved?? We are looking at the B2320 now.

BUMP!!
Hydrostatic transmissions make noise- it's the nature of the beast. In high range, where a greater load is imposed, they are louder. It could be a problem, but in most cases, it is normal. In reference to the original post, I would need to hear it to tell whether it was typical or not. If you are looking at an HST tractor, make sure that you test drive it, and learn for yourself.
From the original poster's description, I would lay money that it is normal, and nothing was wrong with the tractor.

Can't quite remember what model or what the outcome was but Wasn't there once a thread where a noise was intensified through the Rop?
