I am working through some leaks and hydrolic issues on this old worn out B1750hstd with 3300 hours. I am noticing a steady leak out of the input shaft seal at the hst charge pump. If I start the tractor and operate the loader a touch it does not leak. But if I start the tractor and do not touch the controls I get a small stream coming out of the charge pump. I'm thinking blocked screens or a sticking release valve somewhere. Any ideas where to begin?

Other issues: At Idle the loader is barely raising. At 2000 rpm it operates but still a bit slow. This issue seems to have just started after I did work on the power steering valve. I disconnected and reconnected a quick connect fitting maybe that went bad? Also have a bad leak at the swing cylinder gland. I just received the seal kit for this. This things a basket case but it should be a handy tractor with some work. Any help would be appreciated.

What is the model number of the loader and hoe? Does the backhoe run off the tractor hydraulics or does it have its own pump?

Hello thanks for the response. Loader is a 1640a and the hoe is a bradco 6ld. The hoe runs off of the tractors hydrolics.
I dont see how the HST leak would be related to the implement hydraulic system.

A B1640 loader is not real fast so that does not sound particularly odd.

Other than the leaks I dont see a real problem. Am I missing something?

Good to know the loader is operating normally. I am wondering why the charge pump leak only occurs if I do not use the loader function. If I start the tractor and tap the control valve it will not leak for the duration of operation. If I do not touch the FLE it has a steady leak. Is this indicative of a clog or sticking pressure relief valve? I am thinking maybe its over pressurized until I use the loader function. Seal is probably worn regardless, but I do not want to split the tractor anytime soon.

I did not look hard but as far as I know the charge pump is totally independent of the loader circuit.. Definintly not a relief valve issue.
