We had our “wings” clipped today. Still a little groggy.

That shirt thing is kinda handy in place of a cone.

He took a pee and poop with it on; no runs, drips or errors…

Of course. Dropped the tailgate and had my afternoon adult beverage and cigar. Lyla just had to come and help. Choices of places to lay down were a dry front stoop, dry deck, dry gravel or muddy wet gravel. Guess her choice !!
Of course she knew the lady of the house would give her a gentle cleaning and some baby powder and then read me the riot act about wood floors and me and the dog.
I really wish she would have bitched at the dog and rubbed my feet.

We’ve been talking about weather in various locations. Sunny, 50 degrees and windy here today.

Geddy has been loving it. Gonna be a tired boy tonight.

Yeah, Lyla has assumed her position on the deck checking on her domain. We both spent some time in the sun just watching the squirrels and birds. Snow is still on the shaded parts of the property but most of the mud is about gone.

Our last Boxer Ollie had a littermate that was owned by wife’s coworker. Both passed a few months apart.

Same coworker has a half brother of Geddy. The two boys also get to meet up for walks.

Our beloved pooch, Beau, a Sheperd mix. Rescued from the streets of Los Angeles. Beau loves the woods in Wisconsin now. But he's realized that there are creatures in Wisconsin that will eat him. He's dropped a few marks down on the food chain, and he knows it. And although he tried, he can't catch a deer.

He comes across as mean at first. But he's a lover, not a fighter. But he plays hard, I've got scars on my forearms from when he was a puppy. He's a great dog. Especially for a mongrel.

At the stream (known as a crick in WI), on our property, and his favorite play toy, a traffic cone.

Almost looks like Husky in there too. Good looking mongrel!

‘Round these parts, it’s known as a Tubby….😉

He needed a Tubby…

Skunks and porcupines... the worst I've found for our dog. Our pooch has met a porcupine, and thankfully it climbed a tree.

Skunks are the worst. He'll be sleeping outside for a few days when that happens. Poor boy, I wish that I could explain it to him to stay away from the black and white cute ones. That day is coming for sure. I dread it already.

Of course a badger, wolf, or bear will be bad. And those are here. But he's kinda a wimp once ya get past his kick-butt demeanor. He'll run away. Unless there's a pack of wolves, I think he'll run home with only his pride hurt.

He wants to be in the tractor cab with me when I'm brush hogging the trails, but the cab barely fits my 6'3" size. There's no room, I tried to fit him in it. So, he follows along running through the forest on each side of the tractor.

There comes a point from time to time that I truly envy him. I envy our pooch. Freedom from bills and governments and having to care. I don't believe in reincarnation, but if I did... I'd love being a dog in caring home when I came back.

We do love our dog.

My boy Zakk. First pic is him at about 2-2-1/2 months. He's gonna be 9 this year. Hopefully 3 or 4 more years. I love him and spoil him to death!
