Average hours per year on your tractor

That is probably true for models with the electronic dashboard, but for those of us fortunate enough to have an older mechanical tach it is specifically labeled "hours x 1000 rpm".

Does that mean that you rack up the hours faster if you are running at 2000 RPM? Something does not make sense there.

Yep, that's exactly what it means.
Most tractors use PTO rpm to calculate hours, but my B7500 doesn't. It measures hours per 1000 rpm. At idle it logs about 1/4 as many hours as it does at PTO speed.
The hour meter is geared directly to the tach cable so it logs an hours based on the number of rotations that the cable makes. That is the way all mechanical tach hour meters work.

Yeah, I'm thinking not. My tractor idles at 1400 RPM. I think that you need to do a little more research concerning how the hour meter racks up time. L35 got it right with his concise explanation of what the X1000 means.

My l4701 had 4 hours on it when delivered in July of 16. It now has 41hours. The hour meter seems spot on. I timed it one day with stop watch because every time I started it, it felt like boom! 20 minutes. So i checked it , but it was right. Time flies when having fun on it. That story about the cows is pretty funny!

Not all... My 70's vintage IH 574D states on tach "hours at PTO rated rpm" which is 1,850 rpm.

Yep, most older tractors are that way. We have had several IH and Case tractors in the past like that. Kubota seems to be the exception to that rule.

I say that a lot, and it's true.

I was a Health Inspector for many years - got called many things.

Some even I didn't understand, and I'm good with the English language, slang, and bad words.

Most can't be repeated here.

I do about 50 hours per year on my BX2360.

Use it all year with snow, then driveway/dirt work in spring, then mowing, then driveway/dirt in fall, then snow again.

I'm averaging 50 hours per year on my BX2230.. Would be higher if I didn't also have "Old Blue" a Ford 4000.

BX25D. Bought it in August of 2014. 940 hrs.

That built me 1800' of driveway, about the same of trench 5 - 6' deep, cap and fill septic system...270' of drain field...and lots and lots of brush clearing and digging a massive side of a hill out for my friend's 48' by 60' barn.

Two HST fans. A couple of FEL pins. Bent the front steering brackets and replaced them. New driveline boots. Removed all the safety switches and operator presence stuff. Replaced the tires...rears once, fronts twice...now they have inner tubes. New ball joints. Front tilt cylinder on the FEL has been rebuilt twice...end of the ram keeps shattering. And all the oil and filters...

Added an emergency starter bypass switch. Skid plates. 3" wheel spacers. LED lights on top and a switch box.

Bought my B2650 new in June of 2015. 470 hrs and has been a workhorse.

Got my BX 25D in August 2014, I'm at 240 hours now. So approx 110 per year. Lotta backhoe work, and snow plowing each year.

318 hrs on mine. Had it 4years 2 months. So 6.36 hrs per month on average.

Although, I bet I put the first 200 hrs on it within the first 6 months. Couple different reasons for that. Biggest one was that my ex and I were still together when I bought it, so there's that....2nd, I did all the stuff I needed to do with it when I first got it. Mostly because of reason number one.

I mostly just mow my yard with it now.

If you had to replace that many parts on a BX25D in 940 hrs, I must be a hell of a lot easier on my tractor. I have yet to replace a single part on my b3200. I have about 700 hrs on a 2013.
