What would be the purpose of an auxiliary PTO on the back mounted on the tractor PTO? The hydraulic lines come from the tank to the PTO and back up to the lever controls. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a PTO mounted pump or some strange hydraulic device like a hydraulic motor driven PTO shaft.

Look at internet pictures of both and you can probably figure that out.

Alot of older tractors didn't have loaders on them. The hydraulic pump that was installed, wasn't enough to move a loader around. When a loader was installed, they'd use a PTO mounted hydraulic pump to power it.

I think you're confusing terms or I'm confused??
PTO is the spinning shaft out of the back of the tractor, there is on some models also a MID PTO(center facing forward), and front PTO.
If it's hydraulic Quick disconnects, That is a remote, used for various implement controls.
Or as others have said it might be that you are pointing out a pump mounted to the Rear PTO.

Here are pictures of the unit, the lines come from the bottom of the tank and back to the PTO and then back up to the control levers. Thanks again for your help.
That is a PTO mounted hydraulic pump. Commonly used to provide high flow hydraulic power to things like 3pt log splitters or backhoes. It is easily removed when you want to use ths PTO for something else.

I don’t think you need to remove the pump to use a rear PTO driven implement. Your picture shows that a PTO shaft exits the pump and you have an implement shaft already attached to the tractor.

But it is easily removed if you want it removed. But the loader would be removed at the same time along with the hoses and the valve.

As far as I see, there would be no hoses left to worry about.

The tractor would be returned back to original and the tractor hydraulic pump would be used to power the rear three point hitch.

I should have blown up the pictures before free lancing.

Yes, the pump has a PTO shaft extension on it so there is no need to remove it to use PTO driven implements. Its actually a well done addition and totally independent of the tractor hydraulics which operate the 3pt exactly as they did from the factory.
