Excellent thread and well done. It's always satisfying to fix or improve things. I have a similar Dake press and used it to service a Jeep TJ transfer case (replaced all the bearings) as well as form some steel pieces with simple jigs. Great tool to have around.

Well I have been shopping the local ads and calling around and I found a mower yesterday and bought it
today. It was the best one I found for the price and don't appear to be very old with no rust through and
most of the original paint. It is a Frontier by Woods GM1060R I seen another L185 on this forum was running the same mower. I also bought it because my grass is not very tall and eventually I might go to
a bigger tractor and I didn't want to have to find another mower. I figured this one would work for
most all tractors and places I needed to mow. Now I'm just having problems finding 1 bottom breaking
plows local. They are all 2,3 and larger. Found one so far about 90 miles away and at a dealer so top dollar
and I think I can find one cheaper but some dealers have deals like the mower I bought today was cheaper and nicer than anything online I found for sale.

Unless your soil is very easy to work, you might have difficulty pulling it with 2wd and your hp. Consider a 4’ rototiller instead.

I have some good soil it is free of rock and fairly easy to work but I would like to have a rototiller
for it for sure.

Plows take considerable grunt to work. I had difficulty pulling a 12” one bottom plow with a 20hp, 4x4 tractor. For your tractor, I recommend a one shank subsoiler and 4’ tiller instead of a plow.

rule of thumb I was told... 10HP for he tractor, 5 for the farmer, 10 for each bottom...
while I like to use all my toys in the gardens, if I had to only have 2, it'd be the 3 furrow plow and the 5' rotoiller, though maybe the 25BU spreader instead of the plow.....

Less than 10 HP 2 wheel drive, 1400 to 1800 pounds, and plows like a dream.

Got the other two spindles bearings pressed out and one set of
bearing races installed and have to put the rest of them in and
then press everything back together. Here are some pictures so
far.

This one was bad too not quite as much plastic in the bearing but still some
and the grease was all still full of dirt and looked like mud. What a mess
that definitely motivates me to take care of my equipment better than the
previous owner of this thing did.

Got to try the mower out today after I got it back together earlier today and it
works great so hopefully I can get some use out of it this summer.

Ditto, have a 12" brinly myself. Set up is much more important when your using low hp and a light weight tractor.
