Maybe not direct control. but a company that is struggling, will change their policies if it means they will get someone to invest a lifeline in them. Its very hard to deny that happens.

@RCW, have your school board contact STL (St Louis ?) city bus depot ! ALL 40(?) of them are DOA,lots of problems the least is not enough electrons to recharge in a timely manner. I'd have to figure out where I saw the info. They need the power to feed a small town JUST to recharge 1/2 the fleet.

battery busses should be great on hills, lots of bottom end torque, if the computer was programmed right

BTW keep eye open for when the old diesel busses get sold off ! Might be real cheap and you can sell them back in 2 -3 years, or rent them out when the batteried busses go DOA !!!

I may be preaching to the choir but, the difference in gas vs diesel is massive in a small engine. Torque to start with. My 20hp Kohler in my simplicity legacy could not do what my 19.5hp d950 in my b8200 does, not even close. My 26hp Kohler in my other pos grass cutter could either. Small diesel is also more fuel efficient. 2 gallons of gas compared to 1/3 gallon of diesel. The question is what happens after 2047?
if you look at the dyno graphs of the 3 cylinder kubota gas engines vs the diesels, there isn't much difference. Theres a difference in fuel usage, but as far as power and torque, not much. Some of the gas burners have MORE torque than their diesel counterparts. I've said this before and I'll say it again. The more regulation they put on diesels, puts us closer to going back to gas burner tractors for homeowners and occasional users. The engines are already available for some of them.
