Are Kioti tractors really a better value on paper compared to Kubota?

I tend to hear and read this a lot, that Kioti tractors have more and better features for significantly less money compared to Kubota tractors. I'm not that familiar with all Kioti models, but since I have an MX6000HSTC I figured I'd compare it to the equivalent Kioti model which appears to be an NX6010CH.

This is just one example, but the table below tries to make a fair comparison between the two models. If I add in the standard features that come with the Kioti to the Kubota build, and even include a rear wiper not available from Kioti, the price difference is only $1,174. Bare in mind that the Kubota has a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine putting out 63.4hp gross compared to the Kioti with a 1.8L 3-cylinder engine putting out 60.0hp gross. Which one should last longer and have more torque? Also, Kioti implies that only two rear remotes can be added compared to three rear remotes available for the Kubota.

It's hard to compare the FEL capacities, but notice that the Kioti L6010 has less height and less reach compared to the 1065A on the Kubota, so the capacity at max height isn't an apples to apples comparison.

I would still choose an MX6000HSTC over a Kioti NX6010CH, particularly given the insignificant 2% premium of the Kubota that gets you a bigger engine among other things.

N.Y,
Check with both dealers for actual pricing. For my Kioti I got a discount off the MSRP and then the loader price was deducted also with the current deal and free Rim Guard because they are a 5 paws dealer. . Was a really big savings over the smaller Kubota LX ( no other small cab models available) with sales tax included. Kubota just had a small rebate and no incentive for a cash deal. So far I am very happy with the Kioti and I would never go back to a rocker pedal. Some great Kioti incentives going on now for 2024 leftovers. You can get a Kioti RX7340 for 56k now.

I've never understood the issue with the Kubota pedal and have close to 350 hours with it and like it just fine. I only use my heel for reverse if I want to go fast. Mostly I simply use the top of my toes under the pedal for reverse with my heel on the floor. The L60 tractors do have a nicer pedal for sure and perhaps it would make a good upgrade.

As for the RX7340 which appears to be a good tractor, that $56k which includes a rebate excludes 0% financing so it's $60,500 for most folks. There's almost 10% sales tax in Tennessee which puts the price close to $66,550 at that particular dealership.

Obviously everyone should make their own comparisons and decisions, but I wouldn't buy an NX6010CH over and MX6000, even if I was making that decision today.

By the way, Kioti shows an MSRP of $67,778 for the RX7340 and Kubota's M7060 with features like creep range, 540E PTO, air ride seat and rear defogger added on to make it equivalent to the Kioti has an MSRP of $65,082. The Kioti is a new build and the M7060 has been out for quite a few years so arguably the Kioti is the "nicer" tractor, but I gaurantee there isn't a thing that the Kioti could do that the Kubota couldn't.

For many though, the lack of a good local dealer is a problem. It sure is for me.

This is going back a few years now, Fall of 2019, I priced a Kubota L2501 hst, loader and third function with the Kioti Ck2610 , loader , third function.

I had been led to believe there was going to be a considerable cost saving with the Kioti. After negotiation on both tractors, comparing apple to apples my big cost savings was only about $300 dollars!

The only plus's with the Kioti in my mind was the nicer seat and the fact the Kioti dealer was a few miles from my house and the Kubota dealer was about 25 miles.

That $300 dollars cost savings would have been instantly negated the minute I left the lot in the form of depreciation INHO.

Yes you might be able to pick it up for cheaper, but your going to sell it for a whole lot cheaper!
Just a quick comparison looks like a 10K average difference.
But if it work for you that's great.

I looked at Kioti years ago (CK2610 sized). Nice machines but I didn't like the backhoe mount at all. It was basically a frame rail (both sides) that stays attached to the backhoe. So, to store it, you'd need 12 feet of floor space or so.

It was nothing like the 4 point connection that Kubota uses. Kubota BH attachments were miles ahead. I have no idea if Kioti still uses that old method.

I do however prefer the Kioti loader knob. My Kubota wears one...

Good day and Great topic.

I agree with your assessment.

I am always interested how others compare and choose.

For me I wonder how are folks defining ‘better value’…is that the purchase price, 5 year cost of ownership or some comparison against capability and price to say it was good value for the capability?

To me value means what you get for the price…not just the price. To me Its a belly rub formula of the product (includes specs, features that interest me, perceive durability and capability), after sales service and parts availability,

I am not brand loyal per se, but I would not currently buy a kioti over a Kubota. It’s not even because I think one is better than the other (although I do actually think that😉). It’s simple for me it’s not price, it’s after sales service and parts availability. To me that is the value of the reputation…and that it exists in plain sight. I shop the dealers. And there are plenty of Kubota dealers. So even if one is bought sold and goes to shit, there are plenty more. I can move and there will be a dealer there I have two good dealers that I currently use for sales, parts and service. I have no reason currently to try another dealer and lessor known and sold brands and try my luck.

Is Kubota over priced? Maybe, maybe not. I think that depends on a short sighted view or long term sighted view of things.

So long as Kubota stands by their product and keep a healthy network of dealers and parts, then a couple bucks on the initial price of a long term purchase like a tractor really wouldn’t sway me. I might shop the Kubota dealers. iMO I look at the product/quality and service/parts. Price is the result for me. Not the input on a purchase like tractor. Basically because a price is lower or higher doesn’t make it a better value on the purchase price alone. I think Kubotas are clearly competitive.

That being said I think the competition of brands is good for the consumer and I hope it keeps Kubota hungry and honest.

Who the hell let the troll in the fort!😜

The guy I used to hire to clear my lot each year, before I bought my tractor, said he love his Kioti. He used his a lot and said parts were cheaper and easier to get than Kubota as well. We are in the sticks so he was initially worried about breakdowns. He swore by his tractor and recommended that I get one. When I was hunting for my first tractor I might have bought one because they were way cheaper than the new kubotas I was looking at there were similar in features.

I’m not going to disparage other tractor brands, but it’s simply not true that Kioti parts are cheaper and easier to find than Kubota parts.

I'm finding that fluids, filters, and other maintenance parts at about identical cost for both brands. I think dealers make a higher markup on the Kioti parts due to the lower profit they make on machines. Shop time billing seems to be close also due to wages and expenses. I switched to Kioti because Kubota did not offer an affordable 25 hp 4000 pound machine with a factory cab. Fit, finish, warranty, and quality are the same level for both brands I found after finally deciding to look at other brands. Kioti definitely has better ergonomics and comfort in my class of machine I have found. Time will tell how it lasts and resale value doesn't affect my decisions. I have 2 Kubota dealers and 2 Kioti dealers close by that have good reputations. Looked at TYM also but they just didn't compare. Found problems online plus plastic hoods and fenders turned me off. It's only a machine and as long as it does what it was bought for without major problems, I will be happy.

As far as lift range on the FEL the Kioti looks like the pins are closer to the machine. Seems like Kubota is about the only one that pushes them out farther maybe giving you better stability at high heights?

Depends on the loader you choose on mine. I went with the 4030 loader that gives over an extra foot of reach at dump height with a slightly reduced capacity. The 4030C loader option had less reach but higher capacity. Talk to your dealer about options, capacities, and breakout forces.

This thread is in reaction to YouTube videos from Good Works Tractor Co. and others, as well as some comments on this forum that seem to imply that Kioti tractors are a lot cheaper and have more desirable features at a lower price point. It would take time to compare every model in the Kioti and Kubota lineup, but I'm seeing prices being much closer than implied, even when adding in optional features on a Kubota that might be standard on a Kioti.

A shed by the side of the road isn't a proper dealer in my opinion! Kioti might claim to have 50% of the dealers that Kubota has, but every Kubota dealer I've seen is a proper building with proper maintenance and repair facilities, and a showroom. More smoke and mirrors.

As far as I can tell, a rear wiper isn't available on the Kioti NX6010CH, even as an option, and that would be a big problem for me when using the snow blower. I often need to use the rear wiper on the MX when blowing snow. I'm planning on upgrading the rear glass on the M6060 to the version with the defroster, and getting the rear wiper option too. There are times when I could have used a rear wiper this summer when pulling the folding cutter around.

This was my experience when comparing Kubota vs. Kioti when I bought my B2601 and later, my L2501. There wasn’t any significant savings or incentives to go with the Kioti over the Kubota. And, my Kubota dealers, were much better. Easy choice.

And, in all honesty, the Massey’s were the real competition during my tractor shopping…I got really really close to pulling the trigger on the Massey tractors.

Yes they come standard and are not an option on mine. Also has the defrosting grid plus adjustable heat vents. Only the front windshield wiper has the squirter for cleaning though. I found turning on the ac compressor with the heat removes any interior fogging quickly. Very comfortable cab
I also have replaceable dust filters on the fresh air intake that make it safe for dusty conditions but they are not rated for pesticides or other toxins. Lots of standard features that are not shown in their advertising. The only thing that stinks are the cheap little stereo speakers that sound tinny. I'm looking for replacements now.

Thanks for the clarification. My MX has windshield washer fluid nozzles front and back along with rear defrost, and the M6060 upgrade is the same. I would hate to be running the rear wiper in dusty conditions without fluid.

I love threads like this. It reminds me of the big round table of 14 at an old dinner in town. Each morning the local head of each big farm family sat down to breakfast, politics and tractors. No conversation, not money, religion or politics ever got as heated as which was the best tractor.

With saying that....I buy orange. Husky chainsaw, simplicity, and Kubota tractors.....next I think will be a late 70's Allis 190.
