I just bought a T2290 with a 48" deck in May 2018. Have mowed my 1.6 acre yard 4 or 5 times now, and I think it does a nice cut. Took me a few cuts to get used to all of the features. I find the suspension seat really comfortable, and the steering is super easy with 14" turning radius. Who needs power steering, with how easy this turns! The override to keep the blades spinning when you hit reverse catches me every once in a while (tries to shut down engine, if you don't first engage the override); but once you engage it, it stays engaged until you manually shut off the blades.
One thing that doesn't work right is the parking brake lock knob. Supposedly you depress the brake pedal, then pull out the lock knob to lock the brake (which I like to do, so I can leave engine running while jumping on/off the tractor). It worked a couple of times, then started not working. Two days ago, it got stuck in the brake locked position, and I couldn't move the tractor. Finally got it disengaged. Looking at the cable running from the knob down inside the engine compartment, I see it's connected to a piece of metal that pivots to lock something in place.
Could the other T2290 owner (lilbota) try theirs and tell me if they have any issues with theirs? This seems like it might be a design issue. Any suggestions on how to fix this are appreciated. My Kubota dealer should be able to fix it under warranty, but I can't tie it up with them for a couple weeks (durning prime mowing season).
