I see one on marketplace ... may go take a look.
Do these machines have emissions systems?
I believe they were made 94-99

Just like @Fedup said, multiple engine choices and no emissions.I see one on marketplace ... may go take a look.

I don't own one, but have worked on a few. The earlier machines had Ford engines, some had Perkins. Later ones had Shibaura engines. All are reliable power plants. No emissions on any of them to my knowledge.
I was thinking the same.starters can get hot when operated with low voltage (for whatever reason). Weak batteries, poor cables and/or connections. That sort of thing. Could also be from the motor being simply too hard to turn over. That brings other issues into play.
I had one back in the day when they were new. The one I had had the ford diesel in it. I didn't really have any issues with it. I don't think any of them had high flow Hyd . The next one I had was a LS190 I it didn't have high flow either. In my area most used skid loaders have have not had a easy life. I would look it over real close and if its got a lot of hours on it I would pass. Its 25 to close to 30 years old and New Holland is not great about parts on older equipment. I went from New Holland to Bob cat to get the high flow I need to run a tree saw.I see one on marketplace ... may go take a look.

This one has high flow with aux front lines.I had one back in the day when they were new. The one I had had the ford diesel in it. I didn't really have any issues with it. All the New Holland skid steers I had did have the front aux lines but none had much above 20 GPM which was fine for running post hole diggers but not enough when I went to a high flow tree saw. Back when I had cattle I have spend thousands of hours in New Holland skid steers and for the most part liked them. The last one I had the 190 had AC , heat, two speed and hyd disconnect on the bucket. That one had about 2500 hours on it and sold for what I had paid for it new when I had my auction to sell all my hay and cattle equipment. We only do row crop today and any hay I hire out or rent the ground. This one has high flow with aux front lines.
Heres my fix R upper....![]()
What is the advantage to having the boom UP?getting the boom up and locked is just as, if not more, important. If it were my project I would probably want it outdoors (with the boom up) until it's running.
This is what I am seeing on the LX865 specs....All the New Holland skid steers I had did have the front aux lines but none had much above 20 GPM which was fine for running post hole diggers but not enough when I went to a high flow tree saw.
ThanksThis is a great place to get info on it.

Here are the specs. It's also printed on back of the machine.Curious how you determined it's a high flow unit?
They were extremely rare in those builds.
Bingo that's what I wanted to know, excellent score! Here are the specs. It's also printed on back of the machine.
There are 2 sets of lines (connectors) up front. regular aux and Hi Flow aux

Gotcha.Advantage to having the boom up? Hey, it's your machine and your project. If your arms are long enough and strong enough to handle that starter while reaching between the boom frame work you're a better man than I am. If it has the three cylinder Ford engine (still unknown at this point) and all three mounting bolts are in place, you'll see what I mean.
