Adjusting Brakes...??

Hello. I have a B6100 and have noticed over the last few weeks that the brakes are weak. How are the brakes adjusted?? Not sure what I'm getting myself into, so any and all help will be appreciated!! Thanks

What model (D; E; or HST)?

I hope you mean that one side brakes more than the other; this can be adjusted with the turnbuckle under the "floorboard".

However, I'm guessing that what's really going on is the brakes are worn out and are failing.

Since you're asking about this, I'm also guessing that you haven't gotten manuals yet. If so, it's past time! I downloaded the free ones on Kubotabooks.com but my vision is so poor that I could't use them. I got more legible books from Messicks.com -- less than $100 for B6100D OM and WSM and B219 FEL Parts and Owner's Manual.

Also, I believe Kubotabooks.com doesn't have the WSM for the B6100, and you will need that if you have a brake issue.

Okay, sorry... I have a 6100D. The issue I am having is when I press both brakes, the tractor is slow to stop, also the E-brake will not hold the tractor, I have to lower the FEL and raise the front wheels to guarantee stopping movement.

I've downloaded the 3-part PDF (but deleted it) and "thought" I'd gotten it at KBooks but can't find it. The link in the OTT archive takes you to the Owner's Manual section, and there are two WSMs in that section, but only WSM L210.pdf and WSM L3200.pdf

I've looked in several sections, but no joy. NIW, do you have a link to the files?

Okay, sorry... I have a 6100D. The issue I am having is when I press both brakes, the tractor is slow to stop, also the E-brake will not hold the tractor, I have to lower the FEL and raise the front wheels to guarantee stopping movement.

Try unlocking the brake pedals, then use the left and right brakes independently and see if both are about equal in stopping effectiveness. Your problem is with the brakes themselves, not the adjustment (which only "balances" the two pedals to engage the brakes at the same time).

I haven't worked on the brakes (yet) so I have no tips for you. I doubt your weather is fair enough for you to do a brake job on the lady now, so you have time to either get a free copy of the WSM or buy one from Messick's or other vendor. You need a WSM, and the Owner's Manual is good to have as well.
