Adding Coolant to Bottle

In my daily inspection notice the coolant bottle under hood is getting close to needing to be filled. The manual states soft water. Does make a difference wether is soft water or the coolant mix that I fill bottle with to get it back to the full line.

It makes no difference.

I use full strength anti freeze to add small amounts to the overflow bottle.

I use 50/50 full strength antifreeze and distilled water when changing coolant.

Don’t use tap water even if it is softened. Buy distilled water or premix coolant. Softened water can still contain minerals and can leave you with a radiator full of gummy mess.

No more than it takes, just top it off with 100% antifreeze.

Agreed. Kubota specs ethelyne glycol (green) antifreeze (Zerex, Peak, Prestone). Premix is pricey, distilled water is dirt cheap at CVS, Walgreens, etc. Mixing it yourself cost about half the $
