We have more than a few problems, but law abiding people owning and using guns is not one of them. These are the kind of problems that need to be addressed, but nobody will:

Yep, got the hell out of that state when I was able too. Born and raised there, 26 years there was enough.

Mu cousin is in Frankfort, Illinois (just a tad south of Cook County ((Chicago) and has his business there. I'm real familiar with Illinois in general, I hunt on the Joilet artillery range which is by invitation only and I have to jump through hoops to rifle hunt there.

I call Illinois the 'Land of Stink'in'

About 8-10 yrs ago we were traveling to visit my wife's aunt & uncle in Indiana. I am a CCW permit holder & carry everywhere it is legal, so I had researched all the states we would be traveling through in relation to their reciprocity policies. Illinois had no reciprocity, but when we got close, I called the state police for a clarification. I was told, in no uncertain terms, that "The state of Illinois does not recognize the right of self defense under any circumstances."
I now drive around that state under any circumstances.
